WHY

Leonardo Da Vinci created a document in the 15th century that we now call the resume.

We still use it today.

That is, to put it bluntly, absurd.

Luckily, the era of AI-slop and perfect resumes has finally killed it. Recruiters can no longer reliably look at it for information. They're now bypassing it. But I don’t see a reliable replacement yet.

The solution is obvious: a verifiable record of what someone can actually do. A single source of truth, backed by evidence rather than self-description.

LinkedIn has become the default. But it’s more a platform for building a social presence than a reliable record of ability.

Connecting meaningful skill measurement to a trusted skills ledger could give people and employers something much more useful. That’s the opportunity I see for the next resume, and maybe a LinkedIn v2.
